Quick answer
Encounter 14: Khri Colony is an unpainted Dwarvenite terrain set that brings a hive-like insect dungeon to your tabletop, complete with themed pieces to build a Khri-infested lair.
What makes this set different from other dungeon terrain?
Unlike standard dungeon sets, Encounter 14 focuses on an insectoid theme with organic, hive-like structures. The pieces are designed to create a colony overrun by the Khri, offering a distinct aesthetic for encounters that feel alien and swarming. This set is part of the larger Dwarvenite line, so it integrates with other Dwarven Forge terrain, but its unique look stands out for campaigns involving insect foes or corrupted environments.
Is the unpainted finish a drawback?
The set ships unpainted, which means you get a lower price point compared to pre-painted options—saving over $150 based on the catalog comparison price. The trade-off is that you'll need to paint the pieces yourself if you want a finished look. This is ideal for hobbyists who enjoy customizing their terrain, but if you prefer ready-to-use pieces, you might consider a painted version or invest time in painting.
