Quick Answer
Use a durable canvas tote bag like the Dwarven Forge Hellscape tote to sort, protect, and transport your terrain pieces and miniatures, keeping your gaming setup organized and ready for play.
Why a Canvas Tote Works for Terrain
Canvas totes are sturdy and flexible, making them ideal for carrying irregularly shaped terrain pieces without the rigidity of plastic bins. The durable canvas construction protects against minor bumps and scrapes during transport.
The Hellscape logo design adds a thematic touch, so you can keep your Dwarven Forge collection together in style. While canvas isn't waterproof, it's fine for dry storage and short trips to game nights.
Steps to Organize Your Terrain in a Tote
- Sort by Size and Fragility: Group terrain pieces by size and how delicate they are. Place small, fragile items like pillars or scatter terrain in the bottom of the tote, and larger, sturdier pieces on top to prevent crushing. Check that no sharp edges press against the canvas sides.
- Use Dividers or Pouches: Add soft pouches or small boxes inside the tote to keep miniatures and small accessories separated. This prevents them from shifting and rubbing against each other. Ensure all dividers fit snugly to avoid movement during transit.
- Distribute Weight Evenly: Balance the load so the tote isn't too heavy on one side. Place heavier pieces in the center and lighter items around them to make carrying easier and reduce stress on the handles. Lift the tote to test the weight distribution before heading out.
